Cherry Hill Township Announces $42 Reduction in Municipal Tax Bill
Cherry Hill, NJ- As the new Cherry Hill Democratic team continues to engage the community they are working hard to keep the Township affordable. Dave Fleisher, Jim Bannar, Jacquelene Silver and Susan Shin-Angulo have made fiscal responsibility a top priority of their candidacy. These public servants are committed to making the right financial choices to ensure fiscal stability and security in Town Hall.
After last fall and the collapse of the national economy, the Cherry Hill Democratic Party believes the Township needs public servants who will deliver an affordable way of life to taxpayers. Last week, with the help of Councilman Fleisher, Mayor Bernie Platt introduced a budget that provides a $42 reduction in the municipal tax bill.
Fleisher is determined to deliver this kind of savings on annual basis to our community.
“There is no question that as elected officials we have a moral obligation to get money back into the pockets of taxpayers,” Fleisher said. “I worked hard to return money to the taxpayer and I believe we made the right choices at the right time to deliver this reduction to our community.”
Irene Burke, longtime Cherry Hill resident, said the Township’s Democrats are committed to keeping our town affordable for individuals on a fixed income.
“Our aging population needs advocates that will fight for seniors and I believe David, Jim, Jacquelene and Susan will work hard for people on fixed incomes,” Burke said. “This team is working hard for seniors and working families, and the work David has done in Town Hall reflects it.”
Over 13,000 seniors live in Cherry Hill and depend on a flat tax rate that will not deny them the ability to budget for the future.
To bolster cost savings, the Cherry Hill Democrats are supporting innovative energy efficiency and conservation plans for operations in Town Hall. Silver said small changes will make municipal operations more efficient and the Township a more affordable place to live.
“Innovation and common sense solutions will allow our community to hold the line on taxes and lower our operating costs,” Silver says. “By embracing green technologies we can reduce costs and our bottom line.”
