Cherry Hill Democrats Bowl for Wishes and raise more than $3,400 for Wish Upon a Hero

  Cherry Hill, NJ – Last night at the Playdrome Bowling and Entertainment Center the Cherry Hill Democratic Party raised more than $3,400 for the Wish Upon A Hero Foundation. This Township-based charity has been making wishes come true for individuals and families throughout the country since 2007. 

 David Girgenti, Cherry Hill resident and founder of Wish Upon A Hero, was grateful for the good will and donations.

 “I want to thank the Democratic Team and in particular, David Fleisher, Jim Bannar, Jacquelene Silver and Susan Shin-Angulo for their hard work, help and passion to assist Wish Upon A Hero. We continue to be a vibrant organization that helps people in need,” Girgenti said. “In these tough economic times fundraising has become harder and harder and I was overjoyed to have the Cherry Hill Democrats step up and help our innovative charity.” 

 More than a year and a half ago, Girgenti started granting wishes big and small throughout the country. After the tragic events of 9/11, he recognized a desperate need to connect people in need with individuals that were willing and capable to help them. In that simple thought, Wish Upon a Hero was born. This charitable organization connects individuals and families that have experienced traumatic events with people who are able to directly assist them. 

 Now, after more than 37,000 wishes have been granted, the Cherry Hill Democratic team ensured the Wish Upon a Hero organization will continue to help people in tough times (to see inspiring stories click on www.wishuponahero.com).

 Jim Bannar, Cherry Hill firefighter and life-long resident, continued to praise the Wish Upon A Hero foundation for its good work in the community.

 “This organization strives to provide hope for individuals in need and creates direct contact for people to help one another,” Bannar said. “I believe in the work they are doing and I’m happy to see so many people come out and help us support them.”

 Silver said the inspiring work Girgenti is doing throughout the country with Wish Upon A Hero is an inspiring and motivational mission.
